As Reinecke&Wimmer, Tim Reinecke (*1979) and Daniel Wimmer (*1982) have been investigating the conventions of (semi-)public spaces since 2008. Often using simple and raw materials, they create video works, photographs, situational installations and objects in confrontation with prevailing architecture. Their site-specific works are targeted interventions to subversively infiltrate found, established structures. Their aim is to make immanent power relations visible, to turn them upside down or sabotage them. Their goal is to question their self-understanding. They see art on buildings as a concrete measure to ask questions about the possibilities and added value of art in public space in the area of tension between decoration and intervention.

At the GAK Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst Bremen, Reinecke&Wimmer will be showing their work An Stadt Blumen in the series Frei.Zeit, which refers to the current speculative situation surrounding the Weserburg building.
