In a series of monumental charcoal drawings, the artist, who was born in 1956 and lives in Berlin, evokes the beauty and nearness to death of insect wings and wilted flowers: fragments of plants and insects cover the long exhibition space, filling the walls. They were transferred onto the walls with charcoal after projections of overhead transparencies. Piotr Nathan had found and photographed the models for the motifs in his apartment. The photos were then drawn, scanned and printed out electronically rastered. The exhibition shows the final stage of this process, in which the projected light points of the images were transferred onto the walls with charcoal, the coal dust trickling off the walls in the process being collected on specially installed shelves, becoming part of the exhibition. The relics of the drawing process turn the exhibition into an installation and emphasize the ephemeral character of the wall drawings.
