In her series Perspectives, Esther Adam explores the complex interrelationship of the individual with his*her personal and social environment. Careful analyses moving between personal thought (fragments) and universal themes take shape in filigree drawings and language. Adam leaves these always unobtrusive gestures and comments in varying processes on different surfaces. For her annual edition, she has embossed writing and/or images on the reverse side of shimmering aluminum foils. On the shiny surface of the delicate, pink-colored foil, the surroundings are reflected like a shadow; in its curvature, the thoughts inscribed in the material find a form. Protected by the open object frame, a certain singularization of the individual reflections takes place in their fragile materiality, which thus direct the questions about a we-me balance even more concretely to their respective counterpart, their viewer.
