In his research, Luiz Zanotello departs from the sensation of the abyss as the space of ontological indeterminacy, in order to enquire about the dichotomic divide between world andlanguage within a postcolonial condition. By transducing technologies and engaging with decolonial modes of thinking-feeling between the arts and sciences, he attempts to trace an ecology of affect that emancipates from such divide.
During his artistic residency in the Crystal Room, he will tinker with the notion of Chaos-monde (Glissant, 1990) in relation to displacement, and perform a renewed sense of affect through the transduction of light, voice and rain. This will take place in the form of a mixed-media installation partially developed during the course of the residency, and a performance that initiates it from across the river.
