The Art of the Duo is a concert series for improvised music that has been taking place regularly since 2020. Local musicians engage in dialogue with international guests. The duo is an intimate, fragile, and exciting form of musical interaction, giving rise to temporary sound experiments, dialogues, conversations, parallel developments, and three-dimensional sound structures.
As part of this series, Johannes Haase and Neue Stadt Kultur e.V. invite you to the GAK on November 7 at 8 pm. The guest will be harpist Kathrin Pechlof, who will be joined by Bremen musicians Isabelle Raphaelis (flute) and Johannes Haase (violin).
Harpist and composer Kathrin Pechlof works at the intersection of improvised and composed music and contemporary jazz. Her artistic practice draws on a variety of musical resources. She uses a wide range of extended playing techniques to further develop her unique instrumental form of expression.
