Concert for Heating

06.12, 7pm

Apart from the functionality of a heater, its body is particularly noteworthy. It captivates by its simple presence, conceals a fluid organism, captures traces of time and only occasionally demands discreet recognition for its work as a vein and artery of a building. What does it mean to call temperatures, ups and downs, water and steel, threads, pipes, screws, lime and pressure the daily companions? Which stories have been deposited? What does it mean to embrace a room with water and fill it with sound? How much space remains for weariness and poetry?

The heating in the exhibition rooms of the GAK gives rise to an experimental concert, which sees itself as an idea of the embracing body as a sound experience.

Matthias Ruthenberg (*1984 in Berlin) studies fine arts with Prof. Paco Knöller at the University of the Arts Bremen. He is active as a musician in numerous bands such as ampl:tude (B) and Giant On (HB). He is accompanied by Daniel Neubacher (*1985), student of free art with Prof. Jean-Francois Guiton, studio for contemporary media at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen and musician with the project “wycz”.
