We cordially invite you to join us for singing and complaining:
Within the framework of our current exhibition You Breathe Differently Under the Weight. Debt and Credit, we take up the project Complaints Choir developed by Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen. Since 2006, it has been available as an artistic open-source work and can be implemented everywhere – like we do now in Bremen.
The core idea of the project is to humorously compile and perform complaints in a song.
Singing experience is not a prerequisite – humor, time, and enthusiasm are all that’s needed.
The Complaints Choir consists of three parts:
> Complaining
By June 15, send us your complaints via email, post, or phone.
At an initial meeting on June 18 at 6:30 pm, we will compile the complaints, expand and refine them.
> Rehearsing
From the collected complaints, the musical director Line Papendieck will be developing a song, which we will rehearse on three occasions:
23.06. 6:30 pm
25.06. 6:30 pm
02.07. 6:30 pm
> Performing
On July 3, at 8:30 pm, as part of Three’s a Party, the summer party of GAK, Künstler:innenhaus, and Museum Weserburg, we will perform our complaint song together. We will meet at 7:00 pm to warm up.
