Julija Paškevičiūtė’s landscape-like works explore themes of temporary community and mutual appreciation. In the framework of [Das Dazwischen verorten], she creates an installation from, among other things, spent grain—a living byproduct of beer production. With Tending to…, she invites visitors to participate in the daily care and collective maintenance of this installation—and through that to engage in conversation. In the immediate vicinity of the local breweries, new objects can be shaped from spent grain, while existing ones can be repaired or expanded, providing an opportunity to reflect together on material transformation and sustainability.
