Hodan-Ali Farah & Dana Reina Téllez + Nyabinghi Lab (Saskia Köbschall, Anguezomo Mba Bikoro)

21.09, 05:00 pm

A loud and silent conversation/walk around (urban) space, colonial past, movement, decoloniality and the imaginal.

Nyabinghi Lab gUG realizes projects at the intersection of art, culture, education and activism, in collaboration with local and international partners. Feminist and decolonial perspectives serve as a starting point for the exhibitions, discourse events, workshops, concerts and publications curated by the Lab. The organization also aims to provide creative opportunities for the participation of structurally disadvantaged actors in arts and culture. The challenging of historically grown exclusions and the empowerment of affected communities is central to this endeavour.

Hodan-Ali Farah is born and raised in Bremen and moves along the intersections of art, activism and political education. She is concerned with the continuities of Bremen’s colonial heritage and the resulting realities of Black people’s lives in Bremen. Besides her studies in history and education, she experiments with empowerment work through artistic expression and offers workshops on intersectionality and Black feminisms.

Dana Reina Téllez is an indigenous body of culture, latinx artist and sacred activist dedicated to imagination as embodied social justice, committed to following the sweet tender rhythm of decolonial queer-lifemaking devoted to weaving the thread between us and all of life.
